In July 2011, I began my year-long stint as a Fulbright English Teacher in South Korea. This is how it went.

I've Arrived!
I am sitting in my bed in the dorm of Jungwon University. It is only about eight at night in Korea, but I've had two long, exhausting days of travel and then a whirlwind tour of our surroundings and and introduction to Korean culture. I'll be sure to post soon with more details of the first day, as well as pictures of my accomodations (no shower, just a drain in the bathroom floor!). However, I am very eager for some sleep, so such news will have to wait until the floor no longer feels like it's moving. Rest assured that I am here in one piece, hardly the worse for wear.

We're glad you made it safe and hopefully the journey wasn't too painful. The house sure has a stillness about it, with you gone. George paces the house and through your room. She slept in your room the first night and rubs her face on your pile of laundry in the basement.(I will almost feel bad washing/removing your scent from the pile!) We're excited for the opportunity you have and look forward to hearing about your experience!
